Latest issue of A Thousand Faces is online!

Hello loyal reader,

Long time no post...I know...forgive me?

Issue # 12 of A Thousand Faces: The Quarterly Journal of Superhuman Fiction, a magazine that is available to read online for free. Story-wise, this issue is double-sized. So, there lots to read or skip (if some stories don’t match your sensibilities).

I have only read one story so far, Brand X: Double Play. It’s part of a series, but it features a story so far section to catch up / remind readers of what has happened. [Hint to comics companies]

Instructions to read A Thousand Faces webzine for free:
1. Click on the cover of A Thousand Faces (They should really have “Click Here to enter” on that cover – See, it’s not our fault.) This will take you to the Editor Frank Byrns’ column called “Thinking outside the longbox” (clever name) which gives little blurbs about each story contained in the current issue.
2. Click on "New Fiction" on your left.
3. Click on the Story you want to read and enjoy!

  1. Awesome! I'll have to go check it out. I remember reading one of their stories and really liking it. Now I can't remember the name of the main character. It was a steampunk story.

Did you ever do anything with No More Heroes? I had completely forgotten about that...

  2. Sorry I took so long in replying. You're referring to a Mister Brass story.

    No More Heroes? HEHE.

Well, my story made it into the anthology. I haven't mentioned anything, because self-promotion has never been my strong point and I didn't want to jinx anything...Too late now, I've told you...

I wonder if you can guess which story is mine - the table of contents is up on their blog.

I don't want to hype it and then have people be disappointed by the story itself.

  3. Oooh! Congratulations!! Is this the first time you've been published?

I'm really kicking myself over forgetting about the deadline. But my story was going nowhere, and I thought I'd put it away and revise it later, but May and June are crazy busy months for me and it slipped my mind. Hopefully they'll do another anthology.

Hmmm...I'm thinking yours is either "Slow Goth and St. North" or "A Light in the Darkness," or maybe "A Crisis of Purpose." Or possibly "When Good Men Do Nothing." All the titles sound good...I can't wait for this to be published!

  5. No, I had said all the titles sound good! I was also trying to pick by author name, as well. So I guess you aren't related to Valerie D'Orazio. That's a good thing.

  6. Not related to Valerie D'Orazio? What have you got against my sis? Joking. Remember my name is a pseudonymn...

  7. Hmmm. Okay. Well, this is really hard. I had thought maybe you had picked D'Orazio as a bit of an in-joke to comic bloggers.

Knowing my luck the right one will be the one I pick last.

I had thought maybe Matt Nord/"Rebirth of Farmer." Other choices: Trent Lysander/"Malady's End," Richard Marsden/"B Team," and, just to cover all the bases, Rumpelstiltskin.
